Aaand we're back! We never left actually, but we were sooo busy arranging things in our lives that we simply couldn't spare even a few minutes to dA, much to our regrets. But for some time now, we spent some time planning our next journal. For those of you who haven't noticed the trend, our plan is to make theme-based features, mostly because it's fun, but also because we think that "art for art's sake is an empty phrase", and even more, art is never without an objective. As such, we've decided to make these features organized around some conductor thread. However, this same conductor thread must not be obvious or even logic in any way, because art need not to be neither obvious nor logic.
Withouth further addo, this time's theme is cities! Why cities you ask? Well, because for some time now, the majority of the human population lives in cities, and they are the basis of modern (and as for that matter, ancient also) life. They are part of our environment and mold us socially, culturally and, why not?, emotionally. The cities chosen can be old or new, decadent or booming, conservative or innovative, but they are all impressive in some way. All of them somehow, somewhere and sometime have their places in peoples minds when they think of "cities" (or in our own distorted minds, anyways). By no means they are the only ones to do so, or are they even representative of cities in general. They are but a sample of the human ingenous way of modifying our world to our own needs (not always wisely, we must add). The cities chosen were, by their order of appearance: Mexico City, Tokyo, Kyoto, Copenhagen, Sydney, San Francisco, Montreal, São Paulo, Cairo, Dubai, Seoul, St. Petersburg, Manhattan (New York) , Chicago and Istambul.
